Anya is a critically-acclaimed theatre composer, sound designer and musical director.
Her specialism is telling politically challenging stories with a banging soundtrack.
Anya is part of the 2025-26 cohort at Regents Park Open Air Theatre's Treehouse Project for Emerging Artists. Her current sound design and composing commissions include two Edinburgh Fringe shows. The first is a new play about migration and Britishness called ‘The Jolly Fisherman’ with OFFIES winners Kick It Anywhere (Underbelly, 2026) - ★★★★ the Stage. The second is a gig theatre play tackling masculinity and queerness called 'Horrorshow' with Chronic Insanity (Summerhall, 2026).
Anya was composer and MD for ‘Dead Girls Rising’, a new musical about female friendship and surviving the patriarchy written by Maureen Lennon and directed by Alex Mitchell which toured the UK in 2024. The show featured songs in an eclectic mix of genres – from rock, indie pop, doo-wop and folk to ballad. ★★★★ The Herald and The Scotsman.
Anya made her stage debut in gig theatre show, 'Sugarcoat', at the Southwark Playhouse and Vaults Festival (2023/2020) as actor, guitarist, associate composer and co-musical director. ★★★★ the Stage, the Guardian and Broadway World. Other MD credits include 'Shit Life Crisis' by Olivia Hannah which toured the UK in May 2025 and is returning in Summer 2026 (Silent Uproar).
Anya is also lead songwriter, guitarist and keyboard player for the internationally acclaimed punk band Dream Nails. Their third album 'You Wish' (Marshall Records, 2026) was produced by Ali Chant (Yard Act) and hit the UK album charts at #97 to critical acclaim with ★★★★ from Dork and the Skinny. Their second album, ‘Doom Loop’ (Marshall Records, 2023) was produced by Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys) and Grammy Award-winning producer Adrian Bushby (Spice Girls, Foo Fighters). The band have 11 million+ Spotify streams, have toured the UK, Europe and USA including performances at SXSW, Glastonbury and BST Hyde Park with Pearl Jam and the Pixies.
Anya’s compositions regularly feature on BBC Radio 1, BBC6 Music and Radio X, as well as international radio, film, TV and commercials. She has also composed music for Queer’d Narrative (the Apple Tree, 2019-20), arranged music for Damsel In The Bush at Bush Hall (2021), composed music for podcasts (My Teenage Band, The Drag King Cast) and a viral TikTok advert for Smashbox.
