ABOUT

Anya is a critically-acclaimed composer, songwriter and musical director.  

 

She composes for gig theatre and musical theatre and produces music using Logic. She is currently writing her first play while at Regents Park Open Air Theatre as part of the Treehouse Project for Emerging Artists, and working on a new piece of gig theatre called 'Horrorshow' with Chronic Insanity.   

 

Anya composed the music and was musical director for ‘Dead Girls Rising’, a new musical about female friendship and surviving the patriarchy written by Maureen Lennon which toured the UK in 2024. She composed songs for the show in an eclectic mix of genres – from rock, indie pop, doo-wop and folk to ballad.  ★★★★ The Herald and The Scotsman. 

 

Anya made her stage debut in gig theatre show, 'Sugarcoat', at the Southwark Playhouse and Vaults Festival (2023/2020) as actor, guitarist, associate composer and co-musical director. ★★★★ the Stage, the Guardian and Broadway World. Other Musical Director credits include 'Shit Life Crisis' by Olivia Hannah which toured the UK in May 2025 (Silent Uproar Productions). 

 

Anya is also lead songwriter, guitarist and keyboard player for the internationally acclaimed punk band Dream Nails. Their second album, ‘Doom Loop’ (Marshall Records, 2023) was produced by Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, the Fall) and Grammy Award-winning producer Adrian Bushby (Spice Girls, Foo Fighters).  'Doom Loop' was #34 of Kerrang!’s Albums of the Year and charted in the Independent Music Chart UK. Dream Nails self-titled debut album (Alcopop!, 2020) received ★★★★ from Kerrang!, NME and Clash with acclaim from the Guardian and the Metro. The band have 4.5 million+ Spotify streams, have toured the UK, Europe and USA including performances at SXSW, Glastonbury and BST Hyde Park with Pearl Jam and the Pixies. Their hotly anticipated third album is out in 2026. 

 

Anya’s compositions with Dream Nails regularly feature on BBC Radio 1, BBC6 Music and Radio X, as well as international radio and commercials.  She has also composed music for Queer’d Narrative (the Apple Tree, 2019-20), arranged music for Damsel In The Bush at Bush Hall (2021), and composed music for podcasts (My Teenage Band, The Drag King Cast).
